Minimise unnecessary problems

It may seem time-consuming and like extra admin that you’re not willing to do on a weekend, but rather take an afternoon to sort through and keep record of your valuables, than sit for days struggling to process your insurance claim due to a lack of evidence.

It’s very useful to keep a record – either photographs, video recordings, voice recording or a journal – of all the valuable items in your home including the make, model and serial numbers of all products. It may seem time-consuming and like extra admin that you’re not willing to do on a weekend, but rather take an afternoon to sort through and keep record of your valuables, than sit for days struggling to process your insurance claim due to a lack of evidence. As overwhelming as it may sound, simply go from one room to the other processing the contents of each room and classifying them as electronics, equipment, tools, clothing, décor, furniture and so forth.
