Farm Zwartkrans portion 18:
The farm was bought by the current owners with a view on organic farming in the near future, with no pesticides being used since 2013. The farm is one of the few that has no invasive species on the property with no less than 20 ha of solid good grazing - Ideal for cattle and/or sheep farming. Equestrian farming can be reintroduced if the new owner chooses to. There is plenty of level ground for tunnel farming, too, if you wish, with enough water connection points.

Zwartkrans portion 18 has been an Equestrian farm for many years before the new owners bought the property in 2013 and includes 7 stables, a show-jumping arena, a dressage arena as well as a lunging rink which need to be upgraded.
Due to the sizes of farms in the Zwartkrans area (varying between 20 to 25 ha in size) cattle and sheep farming are the most prominent in the area. It allows for plenty of chicken, duck, sheep, pig, and goat farming too, to make a very good living off small-scale intensive farming practices but not on a commercial scale as there are ample chicken farms in the surrounding valley. Surrounding farms do commercial farming with a variety of vegetables.
Zwartkrans portion 18 is one of the bigger farms in size (just under 24 ha) and offers grazing pastures of no less than 20 ha in size. The additional land is occupied by residential buildings and some virgin land that has never been ploughed. The previous owners used to plough, and they planted mealies and sunflowers to supplement their income.
Security on the farm is of utmost importance with all the dwellings protected by brand new electric fencing, motion sensors, security lighting, and alarm systems as well as direct two-way radio contact with the resident security company (Conserve Security). The current owners have also spent a lot of additional funds in their attempt to lessen the cost of living on a farm such as installing gas geysers and stoves in all dwellings and utilizing the borehole to provide crystal clear drinking water to all the dwellings. (Water quality tests have been done and the water test indicated that a bottling plant is yet another viable option.) This borehole is one of the strongest boreholes in the area providing a registered minimum of 25 000 litres per hour. Original tests showed up to 35 000L can be pumped but the system has been downscaled to minimise the impact on the borehole. (A 3rd party Rand Water line runs past the farm and can be connected if the new owners wish to make use of this service.) The whole farm is fully fenced with 2m high fencing. Electric fencing surrounds all the main living quarters and are in very good condition.
The whole farm can be run on Solar (totally off-grid) and the current solar setup consists of 48 panels (35KVA) providing enough power for the whole farm. The solar setup was done by Solar Complete - a professional company providing 3 phase solar solutions to prevent any disruptions currently being experienced by the whole of the country. Water supply is pumped to a 10 000L reservoir with each dwelling having its (additional) own 500L backup water supply. Water pressure is provided by pressure pumps. Timers have been installed to maximize usage and power saving.
The main house is relatively modern and boasts 4 bedrooms and two full bathrooms (Shower and bath) with the main bedroom en-suite plus an additional guest toilet. All rooms have built-in cupboards. There is a very big open-plan lounge, dining, and kitchen area with a separate scullery as well as a massive study/office/entertainment space that flows out and overlooks the swimming pool and outside entertainment area. From the open-plan Lounge area (on the other side of the house) you walk out onto a tiled outdoor patio with exquisite views of the valley and beyond.
The second house consists of 3 bedrooms (all en-suite with showers), separate office space, a massive open plan lounge, dining, kitchen, and bar area with a separate scullery and laundry room (That can become a 4th bedroom with built-in cupboards). All rooms have built-in cupboards. Fenced off.
The third dwelling is a two-bedroom cottage with one full bathroom, open open-plan lounge, and a kitchen area with its own enclosed private garden. Both bedrooms have built-in cupboards. Fenced off. Some TLC is needed in this dwelling regarding some chipped tiling in the bathroom.
All dwellings are rented out. The rental income for the additional dwellings brings in R16 500-00.
Apart from the main dwellings on the farm there is also a 5 room staff quarters with 2 x showers, toilet, solar geyser and electricity.
