The area is well known for its good quality lucerne and onion seed production. The soil is mainly sandy loam. The outfield is suited for sheep, goat, game and cattle. Kudu roam freely in great numbers. The outfield is divided into inner camps, each camp with one or more water hole for the animals. The water is supplied via borehole fitted with either windmill or solar pump with a reservoir. Only a small distance of the border fence is not game proof. All the camps are easily accessible and most of the camps have a kraal to work the animals. The Saai River is a seasonal river, and it runs over most of the outfield. This riverbed allows for plenty of free roaming kudu and grazing for cattle.

The 46 feeding lots allows to move livestock closer to home during lambing season to ensure higher weaning percentages with easy and effective management.
