The result is an integrated architectural signature in pale limestone with highlights off ivory on mouldings and details. The result is a classical rendition of period Portuguese Mediterranean style.
The Detox Centre was opened with state-of-the-art facilities that include a kitchen and cold room in addition to the detox facilities: ozone pod / mineral bath / FAR infrared / flotation tank / sound room / massage room and doctor’s consulting room.
The Detox Centre operates for some 6 months of the year and clients spend 4 to 5 nights in luxurious accommodation on a minimal diet or water fast program. Veronique Fraise who operates this centre is acknowledged to be the leading detox practitioner in Southern Africa and ADL has a an enviable reputation.
The Alice Estate is unique and its hillside location is absolutely choice, located on a 300 metre concave stretch of the Jukskei River. All buildings are above the 50 year flood line. It has many levels, terraced lawns and landscaping of low maintenance that employs a great deal of indigenous plantings and flora such as succulents.
The property also offers 3 swimming pools, a fishing dam, and a fishpond.
Water is drawn from the river via pump system and purified through sand filters, activated carbon and ultra violet treatment to be used in toilets and baths / showers. There is a reverse osmosis system in the kitchen for drinking water. Lawns have Rainbird sprinkler systems.
The Mozambican staff – 3 from the original build team - are excellent and know the property intimately in terms of electrical, plumbing, irrigation and pumps. They are also skilled builders.
Alice Detox Lodge is a working detox centre but could equally be a spa, boutique hotel or any other businesses, – or a private estate for a fortunate family.
It is offered for sale with all major furniture, which was selected or custom-made for its interiors. Artworks and certain pieces will be price added as would agricultural machinery and any vehicle required.
