This unspoilt piece of wilderness is an important place for the critically endangered Cape Vultures who bathe in a unique natural pool in the mountain. 14km from Brits, 2km from N4 and 24 km from Hartbeespoort.
50 Ha in the Biosphere Buffer Zone is fenced in as a game camp, where various game species flourish, e.g. springbok, njala, blesbok, rooihartbees and various other species. A modern secure farmhouse (420 sqm) is surrounded by lush, irrigated gardens. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, study, double garage and servant's quarters, along with bushveld views spanning from Rustenburg in the west, over Brits, and to the mountains on the east. The style blends in beautifully with the surrounding offering a cool sanctuary. Excellent security system around the house and backed up by PPS Armed response. The house is self-sufficient with water from boreholes, as well as electricity from a solar system. The solar system provides sufficient electricity for the farm to be off the grid. (23kw)
The garden boasts an extensive CYCAD COLLECTION of huge and scarce variations (all with licenses).
The aloe collection is extensive, turning the garden into a paradise for sunbirds, as well as many other bird species.
A serene stream runs on the eastern side of the house.
The different ponds with water lilies make a spectacular display.
Huge lawns are grazed on by the tame animals, like springbok and njala.
On the fenced-in section at the entrance gate, you will also find an office with a garden flat, (80+ sqm 6 rooms). It has its own vegetable garden and an indigenous tree and flower garden. Both the office/flat and the main house have a dedicated borehole. (3600 and 5000 lph) These boreholes can be regulated for the sake of water surety/availability. 10ha of surrounding land are ideal for agricultural or recreational activities. Orange groves do very well in this area.
Tracks have been laid out in the mountainous part of 50h, to facilitate firefighting, game viewing, and fence maintenance.
This fantastic property has an established hiking trail which is very popular with various outdoor groups. (facebook Aasvoelbad hiking trail)
A getaway Bush Camp has two bungalows, a kitchen area, a separate toilet/shower with running fountain water and an outside bath, (donkey boiler for hot water), is hidden high up in the mountain, accessible by a comfortable bush track. Treeferns adorn the natural rivers and many fascinating indigenous plant species abound.
