SIZE: ± 1167.2664 hectares

CARRYING CAPACITY: ± 7 – 14 ha/LSU (Government assessment – 1990)

TOPOGRAPHY & GEOLOGY: The property is situated on the lower undulating foothills and plateaux of the Sneeuberg mountain range with the highest point just within of the southern boundary at an elevation of 1,711 m ASL. Between this high-point and the northern and north-western boundary, which is dominated by plateaux of ± 1,500 m ASL there is a lush central valley draining towards the east. West of the high-point and north-western plateaux the land falls away into Wyehoek and Tierkloof where the lowest elevation of 1,190 m ASL is to be found.

The geology of the property is characterised by Jurassic Dolerite in the upper elevations of the western kloofs and along the plateaux rims, and in the higher elevations of the high-point. Intervening sediments are all Permian Balfour in nature with the exception of the central valley where Permian Alluvium sediments provide fertile soils for the drylands and irrigated pastures.

VEGETATION: The property falls within the Sneeuberg Centre of Floristic Endemism. The topographical features and geology create favourable conditions for higher rainfall and vegetation unusual in the district. Biomes represented on the property include Karoo Escarpment Grassland, Afro-Montane Shrubland, Camdeboo Escarpment Thicket, and Nama-Karoo.
