This is a unique Reserve that’s located on the foothills of the Kammanassie Mountains, forming part of the Gouritz Cluster Biosphere Reserve in the Little Karoo Area in the Western Cape. The name Kammanassie is” Khoi- San”, meaning ‘mountain of water’. The water from this wonderful mountain is also the lifeline to this beautiful Reserve. This is a Malaria free area. The nearest Airport is only 100km away.

The Reserve has two main components. One being a fully operational farm. Wine grapes, Olives, Pomegranates and Pecan Nuts. The main crops are being cultivated on an area of 125 ha. The second component is the pristine 6000ha Nature Reserve. In the Western part of the Reserve, you are greeted by the majestic Marnewicks River Valley. This is where farming activities take place.

The Nature Reserve is an untouched part of wilderness with several rare and endangered species of fauna and flora. You will find yourself in awe with the natural beauty that the Little Karoo has to offer. The game includes Kudu, Eland, Red Hartebeest, Springbuck, Gemsbok, Giraffe, Kammanassie Cape Mountain Zebra, Burchell’s Zebra. Grysbok. Duiker, Klipspringer, Steenbok, Bush Pig, Leopard, Black Backed Jackal, Bat eared Fox, Baboons, Aardvark, Caracal and South African Oryx, roaming the 6000ha Nature Reserve.

The model for the Nature Reserve is based on Eco- and Agri Tourism, with the opportunity of full title ownership within the Reserve.There is a Lodge / Bush camp. Everything you need for the hunter. Sleeps 13 -17 guest in the chalets, rondawel and cottages. On the Reserve there are 7 large dams, 10 boreholes of which most pump 10 000i/hour and a wonderful fountain of water straight out of the mountain.

Wine Grapes Cultivars: Mario Muscat, Verdelho, Viognier, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional, Grenache Noir, Shiraz and Mourvèdre. A good year could produce 40 000 – 60 000 bottles of wine, currently all wine grapes are sold to Premium Wine Estates in the area.

Fencing: Installed by a professional. 40 km is fenced with a 2.4m game fence.

Ecco – Houses; A project is in the pipeline, all rights to proceed approved amongst the orchards. One of the main objectives that one can achieve with the Eco Housing is to have the lowest possible impact on nature, and still deliver a luxurious product of high quality. The model is based on and inspired by Agri- and- Eco Tourism with the opportunity of a full title ownership within this private Nature Reserve.

The following permanent crops are being cultivated on the farm. Wine Grapes (7ha), olives(6ha), pomegranates(6ha) and pecan nuts (15ha) The farm is already producing a variety of Boutique -style wines of premium quality, some world class Extra Virgin Olive Oil, as well as lovely table olives and pomegranates.
