Rare game species that occurred in the area historically were Bontebok, Buffalo and Black Rhinoceros. At present the species roaming the area include Kudu, Eland, Grey Rhee buck, Klipspringer, Cape Grysbok, Steenbok and Common Duiker. The nocturnal life is also spectacular.

A section of the perimeter fencing is 2,4-metre game fence.

An abundance of water is available. 35 hectares registered water usage rights of good quality water at 144 hours per week is obtained from the Gamka River irrigation scheme.

It is pumped by a 37KVA motor through a 150-mm pipe from where it is distributed to the irrigation areas. Olive groves consisting of 1,280 five-year-old trees are in good condition and this year they will yield their second harvest. Another 22-hectare section is equipped with irrigation infrastructure. At present it is utilised to produce lucerne, onion seed and cash crops which flourish in this dry climate. There are also two earth dams, one is fed by a perennial mountain spring.
