Sonja Bedford

After Sonja obtained three degrees at the Rand Afrikaans University namely B.A. (Communications), (Hons) Communications and (Hons) Psychology and an Advance Marketing Certificate from Wits Business School she was employed by the ABSA Group where she held various managerial positions i.e. Human Resources Manager, Public Relations Manager, Product Manager as well as Senior Brand Manager. Upon completion of the transition to ABSA Group, she was promoted to ABSA Brand Manager, where she was accountable for the positioning of the ABSA Brand compiling marketing plans and briefs to advertising agencies whilst managing a huge marketing budget.

After a very successful career, she decided to leave the Corporate World to attain a more flexible lifestyle to accommodate the demands of family life, especially for her two children. Coming from a service orientated industry it is her passion to ensure that clients receive the best service. She has turned clients into friends and always strives to act with integrity to be professional and making selling or buying of a property a hassle-free experience. Sonja started in 2001 as an estate agent and she has been with RE/MAX Property Associates since 2002.

In 2016, Sonja Bedford decided to start a team and was very fortunate that Vanessa van Wijck joined her team. Vanessa graduated from the University of the Free State in 1994 with a BSC Physiotherapy degree and was in practice for 10 years before making a career change.

Vanessa also continued her career in the service industry, which she is passionate about. Vanessa believes that you do something well and take ultimate pride in it or don’t do it at all. Both Vanessa and Sonja completed their Higher Education Certificate in Real Estate (NQF L4).
