Jenny Gregg

I started my working career with Sun International Hotels & Casino’s as Media & Public Relations Manager and was able to hone my people skills whilst gaining extensive knowledge of the varied aspects of the service and hotel industry, which has stood me in good stead throughout my life.

In 1987 I decided to take a year off to travel the globe – this resulted in a 3 ½ year adventure, working my way around the world – from fish-packing in Iceland, a dream 6 months traversing Europe, hitch-hiking 5000 km through Turkey and ultimately a year in the USA where I assisted a friend of a friend in her Real Estate business in Alaska.

It is here that the Real Estate bug bit and on returning to South Africa in 1991, I commenced my real estate career with a leading national Real Estate Company and achieved Rookie of the Year Award in my first year.

As an Estate Agent you are responsible for assisting a buyer in making what will in most cases being the largest purchase of their life, which can be very daunting – so, being just 27 years old, I decided to focus on assisting the 1st Time buyer to get onto the property ladder - and as I had just bought my first home, I was able to relay to them my experience of this exciting process.

I went on to successfully sell both second-hand residential properties and work hand in hand with property developers to design, market and sell new residential developments. I was also involved in breaking new ground in the area of sectionalized hotels and was able to draw on my experience gained at Sun International to market this new and exciting product offering.

I again travelled overseas for 3 years between 2003 and 2006 to have a book published, based on the World War I Journals of my husband’s grandfather – this was an amazing adventure and during this time I worked in the London Property Market both as an Estate Agent and as Manager of 3 Branches of a privately owned real estate company. This was again an opportunity for growth as the property market in the UK works very differently to that of South African and USA.

On returning to Cape Town in 2006 and having worked for traditional Real Estate Companies for 15 years, I came across the RE/MAX business model which allowed me to operate as Independent Associate under the umbrella of a world leading and highly respected brand.

I needed a new challenge the RE/MAX model felt like the perfect fit as the autonomy to run your own business enabled me to grow myself and my business, whilst still being part of a Real Estate Family and this combined strength has enabled me to become one of the leading Real Estate Professionals in the greater Blaauwberg area.

In 2007 I diversified my skills to encompass the Rental marketplace. Whilst this is a very demanding and time consuming sector of the real estate industry it also compliments the sales sector and has enabled me to again grow my business and I thrive on the daily challenges which bring with it new knowledge and skills.

In 2013 was blessed to become a Mom for the first time at 51 years of age, which has been an enormous privilege.

Balancing the associated challenges of a full time career as a Property Professional and a Mother has taught me to “work smart” and with the support of my loving husband, I have in fact excelled over the past 7 years, achieving Premier Club and Millionaire’s Club Status multiple times and placed in the Top 3 Individual Performers in 2019.

What I love most about real estate is that every day is different and that despite having many years of experience you are always learning something new. The industry is constantly changing, both in terms of the way we conduct business as well as the legal aspects I have continued expand my knowledge and skills development through ongoing training and support provided by RE/MAX.

The backbone of my business is built on referrals and strong relationships with clients and friends alike, which have been formed over many years and for which I am grateful and without which I could not have achieved the success that I have in my 29 years in the Real Estate Industry.
