About Cathy Pretorius

Cathy completed her studies in Teaching at Durbanse Onderwyskollege in 1981 and took up her first teaching post at Dirkie Uys Hoerskool in Durban. After marrying Arno in 1982 , Cathy joined the staff of Voortrekker Hoerskool where she taught Maths and English until the end of 1991. During this time she wrote and produced numerous plays and revues and was awarded the ATKV Goue Penning award for Drama Productions as well as Die Afrikaanse Sakekamer Service Award . During the following years Cathy lectured in various subjects at the Pietermaritzburg Technical College and taught locums at Secuma ,Newton and Maritzburg College .
