Odette Maartens moved to Cape Town in 1996, where she studied and started her career in hospitality. She worked for various prestigious 5-star hotels focusing on Events and Wedding Planning.

In 2007 Odette decided to move onto real estate and joined DG Rentals. She took charge of the rental department, firstly focussing on High End Holiday Rentals and then started the long term rental division managing rental properties in sought-after areas like the Atlantic Seaboard and Southern Suburbs in Cape Town.
