About Niland & Pretorius Inc.
The history of the firm can be traced back as far as 1922 when a certain Kotze and Lionel Gillett
started their practice in the then Pietersburg. In 1933 Mr Louis Gillett inherited the share of the
aforementioned Lion a I Gillett in that particular practice whilst Kotze left Pietersburg. Louis Gillett
then practiced as such until approximately 1970 when he was joined by Chris Niland as a
partner.
Louis Gillett retired during the early 1970's where after Chris Niland practiced on his
own until February 1978 when Thomas Pretorius joined the partnership which then became
known as Niland & Pretorius. Adriaan van der Walt became a partner on 1 February 1984.
Chris Niland retired from practice in November 1985. I renee van den Ende joined the firm as a
partner on 1 February 1 989 and retired from the firm on 29 February 1 996. He is presently
