Marais Basson Inc. was established in 1993 by Mr JGC Marais. In 1997 Mr SP Basson and Mrs MA Basson became shareholders in the firm and directors alongside Mr Marais. Mr DA Venter was appointed an associate of Marais Basson in 2003, bringing his conveyancing expertise to the practice.

 

With more than 68 years’ cumulative legal experience, our four attorneys are committed to providing clients with the best legal advice.

 

Marais Basson’s attorneys are supported by 23 dedicated staff members.

 

Our two internal claims assessors are our clients’ first point of contact, venturing into the field to assess claims in order to understand legal problems at their source.

 

Marais Basson has two offices – one in Witbank and one in Pretoria.

Professional Memberships

Marais Basson is on the Panel of Attorneys acting for the Law Society of the Northern Province (LSNP). The LSNP has already referred a great number of matters to the firm. Mr JGC Marais is a chairman of the board.

 

Marais Basson is a member of the South African Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (SAAPIL).

 

Awards

 

Marais Basson has received several awards from the Fidelity Fund for Attorneys for high interest earned in trust funds in 2000-2001, 2002-2003 and 2003-2004.

 

We also received an award from the Law Society of the Northern Provinces in 2005 in recognition of our contribution of more than 35 years to the attorneys’ profession.
