What to expect at the Rand Show 2016

Spend some time this Easter holiday at the Rand Show, which will be taking place at the Nasrec Expo Centre from 25 March to 3 April. 

For a few days only, the Rand Show will open its gates for great fun and entertainment. So, pencil in these dates and get your family into the swing of things.

Everyone is invited, from animal lovers, to beauty and healthy enthusiasts, fashionistas, to science and technology boffins and outdoor fanatics. There’s lots of fun to be had. 

Here’s what to expect… 

The Science & Technology lab 

Two science stages will present non-stop science action. Visitors can expect appearances from The Naked Scientist, The Kalahari Scientist and The Nutty Scientists. 

The Animal Kingdom 

Catch ‘The Milking Lane’ theatre production and milking demonstrations at the Animal Kingdom stand. Pet and feed farm animals in Old McDonald’s Farmyard and catch a glimpse of the reptiles on display. 

Kiddies Zone 

On top of the exciting kid-friendly entertainment, there’s also the daily Bazillion Bubbles workshop and giant bubble blowing competitions. 

Kids can also enjoy a giant soccer action zone, gardening workshops and the fair rides. 

The Man Cave 

Motoring enthusiasts can see displays of classic cars, hot rods, sports cars and more in the Man Cave. They can also take part in the public challenges and tournaments in the Cuesportfever pool exhibition zone. 

The Spice of Life Stage 

The outdoor Spice of Life Stage presents a round-the-clock line-up of singers, variety acts and competitions like Mr and Miss Rand Show 2016. Visitors can also look forward to the Rand Show’s Extreme Bodies. 

Home Living & Beauty Halls 

There are free crafting, DIY and gifting workshops in the Home Living Hall, gardening workshops and fruit and vegetable carving classes, plus makeovers and beauty and health demonstrations in the Fashion & Beauty Hall. 

Tickets cost R150 at the gate, and R50 for pensioners over 65. Tickets for teens aged 13 to 16 cost R50, and kids aged 6 to 12 pay R20.
