Rawson Auctions Western Cape is hosting a multi-property auction, which will take place at 12h00 on 22 July at 222 Main Road, Rondebosch in Cape Town.
This is according to Tanya Jovanovski, franchisee for Rawson Auctions Western Cape, who says the investment potential on the majority of properties coming up for auction at the event is exceptional, and those looking to expand their property portfolios should make a point of attending this multi-auction.
The list of properties coming under the hammer includes the following:
A two bedroom home in De Kelders, with an open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen area, will be auctioned. The erf size is 595sqm, and the reserve price has been set at R750 000.
This older home is a renovator’s dream, and it should be noted that the average sales price of homes in the area is R1.5 million, says Ernst Botha, the Rawson Auctions Western Cape agent handling this sale.

Onrus
The Onrus property on offer is an almost new double storey home with three bedrooms, all en suite, a dining room, living room and fully-tiled kitchen with cupboards and a hob.
The second storey rooms all have underfloor heating and there is a spacious balcony which offers views of the sea and the nearby mountains. The home has a large built-in braai facility with a Cape bakoond-type chimney.
The home also has its own garage and is currently tenanted at R6 500 per month.
“This home would suit any person looking for a Whale Coast getaway or retirement home, and bids should start at around R1.3 million,” says Botha.
“This modern home on a 586sqm plot is a prime investment opportunity.”

A four bedroom, two bathroom Gansbaai home situated on a 700sqm plot in Julie Street, Franskraal, has been set at a reserve price of R1.4 million. It has been fitted out in a functional way, which makes it ideal for a large holiday home for family and visitors, or for renting out.

The Suurbraak farming community, sited just a few kilometres east of Swellendam and close to the entrance of the Tradouw Pass, has many smallholdings on which it is often possible to grow vegetables, flowers, deciduous or citrus fruit and olives or to keep livestock.
On offer in this area is a 2.9ha smallholding. No home has been built here as yet, nor has the land been cultivated for crops of any kind.
Botha says this means the property could be knocked down to a very reasonable price, giving those looking to move out to the country with the hope of building their dream getaway home or retirement nest a chance to do so at a relatively small outlay.
The reserve on this property has been set at R400 000 - click here to view.
Also coming up for auction is a 2.1ha smallholding near Mossel Bay. This property, again without a home on it, is sited close to the Botlierskop Game Reserve.
From all points on the property, views of the mountains open out. The walks and the mountain biking trails make the area very attractive and they are expecting offers of R400 000 - click here to view.
A one bedroom loft apartment sited in the Sunrise Villas security complex in Muizenberg will be auctioned. It is well protected and has an electrified fence around the perimeter, remotely controlled electronic entrance and exit gates, and each unit is linked by intercom to the security guard on duty.
In addition, all occupants have the right to use the development’s attractive club house and communal pool, as well as the private braai area attached to these.
The 59sqm apartment has the currently fashionable mezzanine bedroom loft, which is approached by a flanking staircase. The main living area is a fully carpeted lounge, flowing into the kitchen, which has an oven, hob and stove.
“We are hoping to achieve R850 000 for this unit, but it is an urgent sale and all offers will be reviewed,” says Jovanovski.

Another offering is a double storey commercial building in Foundry Road, Salt River, situated close to the main transport highways and the suburb’s hub.
The building’s 292sqm floor area allows it to offer 13 offices, as well as a reception area, two kichenettes, male and female toilets, a large communal area, plus a garage and storage area with roller-shutter doors.
The building is well-protected with burglar bars on all levels. Although not primarily designed as a display or retail area, the ground floor offers ample opportunities for this.
Sean Ferris, the Rawson Auctions Western Cape agent managing this sale, says he suggests that bids should begin at around R2.5 million - click here to view.
Big Bay
A new three-level townhouse in La Paloma in Big Bay will be auctioned. It has panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, Robben Island and Table Mountain.
On the ground floor of the building there is a 63sqm double garage. On the first floor there are three spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms with a long interlinking balcony.
On the second floor there is a modern open-plan kitchen, living area and large lounge and another balcony with a built-in braai. On the top floor there is a large all-purpose entertainment room.
The finishes and fittings throughout are all of superior quality.
“This is one property which has to be seen to be appreciated,” says Sean Ferris who, with Megan Ross, is the agent handling the sale.
The reserve on this property has been set at R2.5 million, but all offers will be reviewed - click here to view.
These properties will be handled on the silent auction system. This means that bidders are asked to submit their offers in writing prior to the Rawson Auctions’ Western Cape’s multiple auction, which will take place on 22 July.
Potential bidders are reminded that Rawson Auctions conditions make it mandatory that 5% of the purchase price, as well as 10% commission plus VAT be paid on the fall of the hammer.
In terms of South African law, bidders have to be registered and have with them certified copies of their identity documents and proof of residence.
