Umhlanga’s only high-end boutique mall is built, 100% let and opened its doors to the public on 8 December. Situated within the established ‘The Pearls of Umhlanga’, the Mall forms part of this R3 billion development. Pearls Mall has generated much interest from some of the country’s biggest brands, with tenants snapping up stores quickly.
“The response to Pearls Mall has been extremely positive. Food Lover’s Eatery is the anchor tenant and this store will be the flagship for the province with a new look and contemporary design,” says Yolande Mattison, Retail Manager at The Pearls Mall.
“There is something for everyone, with outlets like Levisons, Jill and Co, Surfers, SoHo and Platinum Jewellers to name but a few. While restaurants like Casa Bella, John Dory’s, Cattle Baron and Café La Plage offer a selection of world-class delicacies to please everyone’s taste pallets. Fitness enthusiasts will get their hearts racing and adrenalin pumping at the Planet Fitness – Just Gym whilst the beauty conscious can get pampered at the Grant Harper hair salon, Nail It or Hello Hunny beauty salon.”
Mattison says Umhlanga is considered one of the most affluent areas in the country, and the opening of a boutique mall of this calibre is definitely long overdue. The Pearls Mall offers both residents and customers high-end products and services that one would normally find in a regional mall, but in a smaller, more exclusive setting.
Forming part of Pearl Sky, the fifth and final phase of The Pearls of Umhlanga, Mattison says The Pearls Mall will not only offer residents of the resort unlimited access to a host of additional amenities on its doorstep, but will also add value to residents of Umhlanga as well as the thousands of tourists who flock to the village annually.
“The opening of The Pearls Mall will undoubtedly be a major boost for the Umhlanga area as a whole,” says Sudhir Pragjee, Director of The Pearls of Umhlanga Development. “Whilst this area unarguably offers the best in terms of its seaside location and upscale residential developments, there is nothing like The Pearls Mall.”
