Stunning Uitenhage game farm with wildlife going on auction

04 Mar 2017

Just 30km from Addo Elephant Park and 40km from Port Elizabeth is a beautiful game farm in Uitenhage that will be auctioned in March. The farm will come with all its game included.

This 559.1540ha farm in Uitenhage has two main houses, two boreholes and two dams. It will be auctioned on 29 March 2016 with a guided price of R13.559 million - click here to view.

“Uitenhage is a quaint little town, often referred to as the garden town, which lies to the west of Port Elizabeth. It’s interesting to know that most employment in the town is due to the Volkswagen factory that is based there,” says Tanya Jovanovski, franchisee of Rawson Auctions Western Cape.

She says on the 559.1540ha farm (Portion 3, Grassridge 190) you’ll find four hides for bow hunting, a boma, slaughtering facilities, a cold room, two houses for workers, storage facility, two boreholes, two dams, and two main houses with identical compositions that “ooze rustic-style comfort and beauty”.

“Both main houses are double storeys with four bedrooms. On the lower level of each house are two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a lounge, dining area, and kitchen with built-in cupboards. Upstairs are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Both homes are massive and have been built almost entirely of wood. The quintessential dry, savannah-like South African bush landscape complements each house perfectly,” says Jovanovski.

“Outside of both houses, and aside from the huge farm land, one will find a lovely garden, two garages, and the two South African essentials - a braai and pool area.”

Jovanovski says the property has been given permission to erect four wind turbines which can generate a monthly income of R10 000 per turbine. There is also the possibility that permission for more turbines may be granted.

The auction will be silent by tender, comprising written offers in a sealed envelope, with tenders closing on 29 March 2017 at 12h00.

“The guided price for the property is R13.599 million, with the rates and taxes clocking in at an approximate R970 per month. The seller is registered for VAT, so no transfer duty will be payable,” says Jovanovski.

In following with the terms of Rawson Auctions, Jovanovski says there is no registration fee to bid. However, 5% of the purchase price as deposit, as well as 10% commission plus VAT over and above the purchase price is to be paid to Rawson Auctions by the buyer on acceptance of seller.

Bidders are required to be registered and must have certified copies of their identity documents and proof of residence with them.
