Search on for SA’s House of the Year

07 Mar 2010

Twelve homes are in the running to be named South Africa’s House of the Year.

The homes are featured in the March edition of House and Leisure magazine, the sponsor of the competition in association with Weylandts. The homes selected were featured in the magazine over the past year and readers now have the opportunity to vote for the home they think is the most inspiring.

“We have an exciting line-up of homes in this year’s competition. Each finalist is unique, yet all 12 epitomise stylish South Africa at home,” says Naomi Larkin, editor of House and Leisure.

“From a revamped historic weekend retreat in Koringberg and a state-of the-art luxury Jo’burg family home to a Port Elizabeth house comprising two distinct yet complementary architectural styles, they are all showstoppers and are all 100% home-grown,” concludes Larkin.

The competition is in its sixth year and remains the respected showcase of the most beautiful homes in South Africa.

“We are proud to be associated with this competition,” says Chris Weylandt, owner of Weylandts.

“It’s exciting to see that South Africans are drawing inspiration from around the world and interpreting global trends in their own unique way. From architecture to our choice of furniture, a truly African-inspired style is becoming an ever greater part of the personal aesthetic we express in our homes.”

For more details on how to vote, see the latest issue of House and Leisure.

The winning house will be announced in September 2010 and one lucky voter will win a R30k Weylandts shopping spree.
