One of the other developments within the Eastern Cape which dhk architects are spear-heading is the Drostdy Hotel in Graaff-Reinet.

Speaking on behalf of the dhk group, chairman, Derick Henstra, gave an overview of the group’s vision for the Eastern Cape.

“We believe the Eastern Cape shows good promise for future growth and the investments being made in new developments such as Baywest, the urban renewal of parts of Port Elizabeth as well as infrastructural projects such as Coega bodes well for the future”, says Henstra.

He says forming partnerships with local developers and planners has been a blueprint that has worked well for the firm in the past and they look forward to making a contribution to the social and economic development of the region.

Committed to sustainability and a stringent environmental policy dhk has a growing track record for delivering contemporary ‘green’ buildings that will contribute to the social and economic sustainability of the region.

Recently dhk achieved the first 5 star design rating for a tall building in SA and Africa with its Portside building in the Cape Town city centre.
