Mall of Africa in Waterfall, Gauteng, welcomed one of South Africa's biggest grocery retailers to the centre, with the official opening of the new Pick n Pay store.

The new 4 367sqm store is one of Pick n Pay's signature Next Generation stores, which are designed to offer an improved shopping experience for customers with dedicated easy-to-navigate spaces, enhanced product ranges and a host of value-add services.

"At Pick n Pay, we provide real value and excellent service to our customers, and our new Mall of Africa store will be no different. We've created a modern and convenient destination for our customers to shop - for a quick meal on the go, daily top-up shopping or end of month groceries. We are excited to welcome customers and to offer them great value, a variety of fresh offerings and everyday savings," says Pick n Pay Mall of Africa store manager, Tshepo Motelung.

The new store has a strong focus on fresh produce, with a third of the store dedicated to fresh and perishable produce. Customers can expect a variety of unique counters, ranging from fresh sushi to cheese and biltong. The stores chilled fish counter, butchery, bakery, deli and hot food counter will offer customers the freshest produce prepared for their specific needs. The new outlet also includes an in-store clothing department and a liquor store.

Mall of Africa has experienced a successful year thus far, between being crowned the Coolest Mall in South Africa for the second year in a row, and becoming the preferred home for various flagship stores, such as the recently opened Yuppiechef kitchenware store, their largest store in Johannesburg.

"Mall of Africa continues to grow from strength to strength, backed by a vibrant tenant mix, premium retail brands, diverse lifestyle offering and world-class amenities. We are very excited about welcoming one of the countries most loved supermarkets to the Mall and look forward to building a lasting relationship with Pick n Pay," says Johann Fourie, General Manager of Mall of Africa.

The Pick n Pay store is located on the lower shopping level of the Mall, and customers can look forward to exciting opening specials as well as various in-store activations and promotions in the weeks following the grand opening.
