Milkwood director Christo Swart says the building is being constructed in a zigzag format with the back of the units facing the well-known Marina Martinique. It will cover 30,000sq m and will be 265 metres in length.
Swart says the style of architecture is Cape Caribbean, similar to the colonial style buildings that were erected on the Caribbean islands. "The back of the building will feature a huge glass column in the middle."
All the units have three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and an open-plan living area. The smallest unit is 160sq m and the largest 190sq m. The most expensive unit will cost R4,5m.
"The whole building has a filtering system to purify the water by 90% for use for washing and in the bathrooms. Each unit has an additional filter to purify this water even more for drinking purposes.
"The carpets have been specially weaved, the finishes are done in beautiful wood, toilets and wash basins have been imported from France, shower heads come from Italy, to name but a few luxuries. The building also has its own generator to avert power disruptions."
Jaco Rademeyer of Jaco Rademeyer Estates, who markets phase two, says it is clear that there is still a strong demand for property and investments in the Jeffreys Bay area. "Several developments are taking place, including a multi-million rand regional shopping centre and golf estates.
The first units are expected to be ready for occupation by June of next year.
