There are many ways to get creative with paint effects and paint techniques and a little out-of-the-box thinking can bring about surprising results.
One does not often think of wrapping wool around a paint roller to paint on walls, wallpaper, fabric, or even furniture, but this can create a unique effect.
Simply wrap wool around the paint roller to create texture on any wall.
Before you start, paint the wall in your choice of paint colour. The best colours to use for this effect would be colours from the same paint swatch. Use the Plascon Inspired Colour System to select the main colour that you want to apply onto the wall, which can be either the basecoat or top colour and select a lighter or darker tint to apply as the dappled effect.
Once the base coat is dry, wrap the paint roller with wool. You can try this out on a piece of newspaper before applying to the wall, so that you can add or remove or add wool until you have the desired effect.
Then paint the wall as you would normally, but try not to coat the roller with too much paint as it may cause the effect to look too thick.
You can also use this paint technique to make your own unique wallpaper, or roll designs onto fabric.
