The first 15 owners have taken occupation of their homes at The Village – the new secure estate that is taking shape within the acclaimed Diemersfontein Wine and Country Estate in the Boland’s scenic Wellington Valley.
The Village offers an atmosphere of beauty and rural tranquillity, within 45 minutes’ drive of Cape Town and its international airport, or just 30 minutes from the city’s Northern Suburbs.
In addition, Pam Golding Properties (PGP) reports that a further 23 properties have been sold and are either under construction or due to commence building soon. The 19 properties in Phase One of the development are completely sold out, while just 12 are still available for purchase in Phase Two, with a further 19 that have already been sold.
The homes are being sold on a plot-and-plan basis, priced between R1.095 million and R1.55 million.
PGP’s project manager for the development, Louise Varga, says buyers to date have included a mix of young couples and first-time buyers, many with young children, as well as mature buyers wishing to downscale, and investors of all ages.
She says a number of key factors have ensured demand including the scenic, central location within the Wellington Valley, surrounded by vineyards and with views of the Baviaanskloof and Du Toitskloof mountains.
Varga says buyers appreciate the fact that they can live in an atmosphere of beauty and rural tranquillity, but still be within 45 minutes’ drive of Cape Town and its international airport, or just 30 minutes from the city’s Northern Suburbs.
“The excellent security and ease of lock-up-and-go living are also key selling points, as is the presence of an on-site private school, Wellington Preparatory, to which homeowners’ children have guaranteed admission. To have a high quality co-ed primary school literally on your doorstep, and know that your children willhave a place there, is a big advantage given the fierce competition for places in top schools.”
PGP’s area manager for Wellington, Surina du Toit, adds that buyers have appreciated the convenience of the plot-and-plan offering, while still enjoying a sense of personal choice.
She says there are eight different design options in Phase 2, including options for both two and three bedroom homes.
Owners also have a number of options to customise the finishes and fittings to their own personal taste, she says.
“This means that they can still put their individual stamp on their home, while conforming to the overall architectural theme and the atmosphere of informal elegance. Those residents who have already taken occupation have expressed gratitude for the professional service they received from both the developers and the builders, and are delighted with the high quality of their homes.”
All buyers at The Village have access to the full range of facilities on the acclaimed 180 hectare wine farm, including guest accommodation, a restaurant, beauty spa and extensive network of trails to explore by foot, bicycle or on horseback. The Village also has its own swimming pool for residents’ exclusive use.
