A national property management company has won three new contracts to manage office blocks in the past few months.

National property management company Hermans & Roman Property Solutions in the past few months has won three new contracts to manage office blocks.

Kevin Roman, co-founder and chief executive officer of Hermans & Roman said, "As part of our national portfolio, we have two new buildings in Johannesburg and one in Durban under our management.

"These are the Metlife Building, situated close to Durban's harbour, the Mineralia office block in Braamfontein, Gauteng, and 66 Marshall Street, also in Johannesburg."

Hermans & Roman was founded five years ago by property experts Leslie Hermans and Kevin Roman. The company manages assets worth R3 billion for private and listed sector clients and in excess of R7 billion for the public sector. Clients include the South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) and the Public Investment Corporation (PIC).

The Metlife building, on Smith Street, is situated in the heart of Durban's business district. It comprises sixteen floors, as well as three parking levels.

"This is a much-sought after building for office space," said Roman. "From the top floor there are stunning views over the harbour and the city. In addition, ample parking and the building's proximity to transport nodes are highly desirable for staff," said Roman.

The property was built twelve years ago and has won several architectural awards.

"The Mineralia building in Braamfontein enjoys a vibrant and young atmosphere around it, as it is set in the centre of Johannesburg and close to the University. It is occupied by the Department of Public Works, whose staff benefit from the secure parking and the many facilities such as shops and banks in the area," said Leslie Hermans, co-founder and chief operating officer of Hermans & Roman.

"The third property is 66 Marshall Street in Marshall Town, Johannesburg," said Hermans. "The building was previously the head office of Hollard Insurance and now it is the national office for the Department of Justice.

"At eight thousand five hundred square metres, the property provides a comfortable space for the employees who work in the block."

"As we approach our fifth birthday we are achieving are growth objectives while maintaining a personal and hands-on approach to managing our clients' portfolio," said Roman.

"We attribute a large part of our success to the support and enthusiasm of our staff.

We founded the company with six staff members in 2002 and have grown to a compliment of 92 employees today, working from three offices nationwide, in Gauteng, the Western Cape and Kwa-Zulu Natal.

"As good people are one of our greatest assets, we are committed to continually identifying how we can improve their opportunities for creating wealth. To this end, we regularly conduct skills assessments with them and have also set up a staff trust fund linked to the company's investments so as we prosper, so do our staff," concluded Roman.
