Bloem residents now have the opportunity of living next to Bloemspruit, a tributary of the Modderrivier, on the way out to Mazelspoort, with the new Riversdale development well under way.
Bloemfontein is not really the flat city that everyone imagines. It is full of hills and is the only city in the World with a game reserve (Franklin) right in the centre of it. What is does not have is much in the way of rivers and streams with the Modderiver being some 20 kilometres to the east at Mazelspoort.
Now local residents are being offered the opportunity of living next to Bloemspruit, a tributary of the Modderrivier, on the way out to Mazelspoort. This development by well known local builder Buks Westraad, is well underway with phase I already at roof height.
There will be five different basic designs from two to three bedroom units with an assortment of garages, garports (closed carport) and carports and one or two bathrooms.
Prices will range from R492,000 for a basic 2 bedroom, one bathroom, carport unit to the top of the range 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, garage unit at R678,000.
Riversdale because of its position to the east of the city close to the Bloemfontein
Airport it likely to attract a wide range of buyers. It is within easy access to the city being just off the N8
Thaba Nchu Road and also has good access to the north of the city.
The first units will be ready for occupation at the beginning of September and 10% of the units have been sold before the date of the official launch.
The managing agents for the Body Corporate will be
Platinum Global headed by well known sectional title and development specialist Mike Spencer. "This is the first proper development in this area and offers a choice of units to those who do not want to stay in the highly built up areas," says Spencer. "Additional ground alongside the spruit was purchased by the developer and this will give the development direct access to an extensive area of river front. The area will be upgraded as a recreational area for residents which is not available even in the most expensive townhouses in the city."
A total of 145 units will be built in the scheme which is expected to be totally completed by June 2007. Mike said "With this innovative development in the area it is likely that others will follow this trend in giving more "play" space for owner and residents. It is a trend that I would like to see in other developments that in some cases tend to be over built"
