“With the FIFA Soccer World Cup just around the corner, stunning bushveld properties that showcase South Africa’s natural heritage are sure to benefit from the increased global exposure,” says Petro Hansen from Auction Alliance.
Situated 70km west of Bela Bela, and no less than two hours drive from Johannesburg, lies the Weiland game farm. This 1,977.5 ha property hosts an abundance of grass and tree species, including dense Tamboetie forests and the spectacular old Marula and Camel Thorn trees. The Blink River and Moepelo Stream also cleave their respective ways through the dramatic landscape.
Infrastructure on the farm is well-maintained and includes a comprehensive road-system, full game fencing, a landing strip and several green-flag hiking trails. Water abounds from seasonal springs and feeds many collection dams dotted across the farm. Accommodation on the farm comprises three residences, a large bush camp with five en-suite family rooms, as well as a spacious lapa that offers an ideal setting for a corporate bush indaba.
“The farm has been granted government Right of Decision (ROD) for eco-estate development and this includes a commercial stand for possible development as a garage facility,” adds Hansen.
The second property for sale, the 1,080ha Etosha Nature Reserve is situated 42km west of Bela Bela. The sale comprises the reserve and a well-established lodge. “The reserve is an internationally accredited hunting farm and has hotel development rights,” comments Hansen.
Current accommodation on the reserve includes the main lodge, five chalets and two luxury bush camps. Further included is a fully-equipped conference centre that can host up to 24 delegates, a fully functional restaurant, as well as a butchery with a game abattoir certification.
The reserve boasts an established infrastructure, including six boreholes and three ground dams, an electrified game fence, a network of irrigated gravel roads, as well as utilities in place for a 50-room hotel. All game is included in the sale.
Both these properties will fall under the hammer at Auction Alliance’s 21 April 2010 Platinum Auction, set to take place at 10:00 at The Southern Sun Hotel in Sandton.
