KZN – showcasing superb coastline

06 Feb 2008
Kwa-Zulu Natal is one of South Africa's most beautiful provinces and home to the Zulu kingdom. Richly endowed with natural beauty, Kwa-Zulu Natal is homeland to the Drakensberg mountain range and a coastline dotted with small towns. The climate is humid and subtropical and so perfect as a holiday destination that people flock each year to this province from all over the country. It is also sought-after by fishermen and during the extraordinary annual "sardine run" millions of these tiny fish migrate along the Eastern Cape coastline towards Kwa-Zulu Natal.

Zimbali Coastal Resort is situated on the stretch of Kwa-Zulu Natal's Dolphin Coast. Its combination of untouched coast with lush vegetation and an abundance of wildlife makes Zimbali perfectly positioned as a holiday destination.

Just like Zimbali, Princes Grant is situated along the Kwa-Zulu Natal coastline, and showcases a superb lifestyle with one of the country's best golf courses.

Princes Grant's closest rival as a prime spot would have to be San Lameer, yet another of Kwa-Zulu Natal's establishments where nature, wildlife and ocean are complemented with a prestigious golf course.

Further inland is South Africa's world famous Drakensberg. Located in an area that falls between four valleys, the Drakensberg Sun offers mountain walks and hikes for the adventurer. The Drakensberg is not only magnificent in scenic beauty with incredible mountain peaks and lush vegetation, but it also offers an array of activities including abseiling, trapeze training, quad-biking and river rafting.

Zululand is situated in Northern KwaZulu-Natal and extends along the coast of the Indian Ocean from the Tugela River in the south to the Pongola River in the north. The seat of Zululand is Ulundi. The area is now firmly established as one of the world's most protected places, with an extensive network of Nature Reserves and Game Parks.

Located next to the renowned Big 5 Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve in Zululand, Ubizane Game Reserve is only a 2-hour drive from Durban. Ubizane boasts over 450 species of birdlife as well as a variety of game including rhino, giraffe, wildebeest and most species of antelope. Zululand Safari Lodge is the larger of the two camps within Ubizane, with 27 self-catering chalets.

Durban is South Africa's second most populous city after Johannesburg, and Kwa-Zulu Natal's largest city. The city is a major tourist attraction for both local and international tourists, due to Durban's warm subtropical climate and beautiful beaches. Durban has a marine life like no other and plays host to uShaka Marine World, one of the largest aquariums in the world. This, combined with its cultural background, makes it an ideal spot for fractional property investment.

The North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal is also referred to as the Dolphin Coast in honour of the Bottlenose Dolphin frequently seen there. As well as dolphins, this upmarket stretch of coastline with its beaches is home to Umhlanga, Ballito, Salt Rock and Zimbali, and offers many opportunities to those interested in fractional ownership. Apart from its numerous beaches and restaurants, many other pursuits await - from golf to horse-riding to visits to crocodile farms and important historical landmarks.

On KZN's South Coast the 120 km stretch of Indian Ocean known for its famed Sardine Run, is popularly known as the Golf Coast owing to its wide selection of excellent courses. The golden beaches and sub-tropical bush make it a fractional ownership delight, with visitors spoilt for choice along this scenic and relaxed route, which also offers easy access to the southern slopes of the Drakensberg mountain range.

It's easy to understand why both local and international tourists seek out Kwa-Zulu Natal, an area that is also extremely sought after in the fractional property market.
