"The town is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, particularly its scenic beaches, breathtaking mountains, and the opportunity for whale watching. The presence of abundant marine life attracts tourists from around the world, making it a popular holiday spot. The demand from tourists drives the local economy and creates a favourable environment for property investment.

"In terms of potential growth, Hermanus has experienced a steady increase in property values in recent years. The combination of its natural allure, tourist influx, and limited available land for development has created a favourable market for property owners. Buyers can expect their investment to appreciate over time, offering the potential for a substantial return on investment," says Hanekom.

He explains that, currently, property prices in Hermanus vary depending on the specific location, size, and amenities offered.

"On average, residential properties range from around R1 million for smaller apartments and townhouses to several million for larger homes or exclusive properties with ocean views. It is important to note that these prices are subject to change based on market conditions and individual property characteristics".

The town's reputation as a tourist hotspot has garnered attention from overseas investors seeking a piece of the South African coastal lifestyle. This heightened interest has further bolstered the property market, creating opportunities for both sellers and buyers," he says.
