Hartenbos gets new development

23 Aug 2007
Although Hartenbos is an established town, it is still growing with developments such as the MenkenCove Security Village.

The development is centrally located with 31 sea facing plots, of which 10 have already been sold.

MenkenCove is an upmarket beach front development that is being marketed by Limestone Projects. Plots are available as stands with no buildings or as stands with completed buildings. If the plot alone is purchased the purchaser has to follow certain building regulations to keep the development uniform.

Willem Theron, a property consultant for Engel & Völkers Developments Africa, recommends that potential purchasers should opt for the completed building because of the practicality of this option.

The stands can be purchased for a deposit of R60k. The completed buildings will cost between R1,865/sq m and R2,125/sq m, except for one plot which is on special offer for R995k for the land and house.

Theron says as a small development, MenkenCove offers its residents a high level of security. The development is completely walled and it has a security boom. Located in the upmarket Menkenkop, this development aims to keep the high building standards of the area, Theron adds.

Theron says this development "is unique because it is built on two levels", which means all the plots have an unobstructed views of the ocean.

"The Menkencove development is situated in a cul-de-sac, away from the nearby busy streets and positioned high on the hill." - Bavani Naidoo
