Franschhoek wine estate on auction

02 Aug 2010
A prestigious 39 ha Franschhoek wine estate encompassing various facilities will soon fall under the hammer.

The exclusive La Couronne Wine Estate, which lies in the heart of the Franschhoek valley, will be auctioned by the ClareMart Auction Group in mid-August. According to auctioneer Dawie Maritz this is a great opportunity to invest in an established wine estate with modern facilities. “We have received instruction to submit the farm to public auction and sell it to the highest bidder. Apart from it being an established farm, it offers massive potential for further development,” says Maritz.

Situated against the Klein Dassenberg mountain on the Robertsvlei Road, this farm offers a big business centre comprising a restaurant, conference facilities and a modern wine cellar. Varieties such as Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grapes are available for quality wine producing.

“Not only is this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire an established wine estate in a prime location, but the estate also offers a host of possibilities making it a commercially viable and lifestyle option for the discerning buyer.”

He says over and above a wine estate or a wineland experience, it’s also suited to hosting weddings and other functions.

La Couronne is located high up on the South Eastern slopes of the Franschhoek mountains and boasts spectacular views of the entire valley.

Those interested may view the farm on Wednesday 4 and 11 August and it will be auctioned on Thursday 18 August on site at 12:00.
