Less fortunate children at the Charisma Church centre in Mamelodi benefited from the Engel & Völkers rewards function held in October last year.
Chalk boards material which was used for the function was donated to less fortunate children at the Charisma church centre in Mamelodi run jointly by the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Lynnwood.
Some décor items which were produced for the function were also sold to various event companies and the proceeds were used for food parcels which formed part of the contribution, says Jacques Erasmus, PR liaison of Engel & Völkers Southern Africa.
This centre aims to help children become confident and well rounded citizens who in turn can contribute to society.
The children walk to the centre from various schools in the area and are selected by Charisma Church Pastor Jeff Dhlamini in conjunction with the school principals.
It is situated in Ikageng in Mamelodi East and currently has 42 children who visit the centre each afternoon.
“After being greeted in song and dance by the school children and seeing their gratitude for something so small, it really does open one’s eyes to how easily we take everything for granted and how a small gesture can have such a big impact on someone else’s life.”
