Aida Nelspruit's new office

05 Oct 2012

Aida Mbombela (Nelspruit) recently held a spring launch to celebrate the opening of its new premises in the Jock and Java complex.

The property market in Mbombela and the rest of Mpumalanga offers excellent opportunities for home buyers as well as investors, according to Aida Mbombela owner, Marelize Schuld.

Owner Marelize Schuld, who owns several successful Aida offices in Mpumalanga says opening the new premises represent a fresh approach her franchise brings to the local real estate sector.

“Backed by the exceptional quality and service of the national Aida franchise group, we are committed to treating all our clients with integrity and honesty.”

She explains that the property market in Mbombela as well as in the rest of the province, offer excellent opportunities for home buyers as well as investors.

Demand currently exceeds supply, given the rapidly growing middle market.

Suburbs are growing at an enormous pace and there is consistent demand among first-time buyers for homes priced below R1 million.

“We further expect rapid growth in the demand for cluster homes and apartments and developers would do well to take heed of the future demand in this sector once the proposed local university is opened.”

Schuld says business in the province was flourishing – pointing out that Mpumalanga - the place where the sun rises - is a very apt description of a province that holds much promise.

Agriculture remains an integral component of the local economy with subtropical fruit and macadamia nuts the main crops.

Local research into crop varieties and prevention of disease supports the industry and bodes well for a sustained agricultural sector.

“We view this sector as very important and offer specialised services for buyers and sellers in this market.”

Tourism remains alive and well and Mpumalanga offered a total of 70 private and provincial game and nature reserves, she says.

According to Schuld, a large percentage of the nearly 10 million foreign visitors that come to South Africa annually visit the Kruger National Park and other attractions in Mpumalanga, and one cannot disregard the enormous influence this has on job opportunities in the province and the strong economic benefits it holds.

“Aida has also built a strong niche in this sector of the market and our Mpumalanga offices, including Hazyview, White River, Sabie, Graskop and Mbombela, have an enviable track record of assisting buyers and sellers of lodges and other tourism establishments, and of upholding the high standard of tourism in the province.”

Schuld says Mpumalanga reflects the health of the wider South African property market.

“Over the last decade house prices have risen by an astonishing 456 percent - better even than the much-vaunted Australian property market, which has shown growth of 211 percent,” she says.

Schuld adds that very few investments can boast an average 12 percent annual growth over 40 years.

Our advice to all consumers is that it is never too late to benefit from property investment - whether you buy your own home or whether you buy to let.
