Top performing estate agent Antoinette Hoeksema has acquired the RealNet franchise for the Moot East area of Pretoria.
Hoeksema says she sees the acquisition as one of the most exciting real estate prospects in the city right now.
She lived in the area before relocating to Randburg for a few years ago.
There is a high level of buyer interest because the area is centrally located with well-established infrastructure and millions of rands worth of property have been sold here over the past few years, despite the economic downturn, she explains.
She says properties in Moot East are generally very well-priced and offer good value for money compared with many newer parts of Pretoria.
“Although this new venture is bound to be a challenge, I have no doubt that it has a successful future ahead.”
The Moot East area encompasses suburbs such as Colbyn, East Lynne, Gezina, Kilner Park, Moregloed, Queenswood, Rietfontein, Rietondale, Riviera, Villieria, Waverley and Wonderboom South.
It caters for a huge range of buyers, from students and first-time buyers looking for small flats to top executives and professionals who would like to own a hilltop mansion.
In Gezina, Riviera and Waverley, for example, there are bachelor and one-bedroom flats available from around R250 000 to R300 000 that are excellent buys for students at the University of Pretoria and for staff at the Steve Biko academic hospital and the new Department of International Relations campus in Soutpansberg Road, she says.
Two bedroom flats in the same areas and also in Wonderboom South are priced from around R350 000 to R500 000 and make great starter homes for newly married couples and even small families.
These are situated close to pre- and primary schools and shopping centres and on public transport routes for those who work in the city centre.
She notes that sectional title townhouses and duets with at least two bedrooms and two bathrooms are available in secure complexes in Kilner Park, Moregloed and Queenswood at prices from around R650 000,
Three bedroom options throughout the Moot East area are priced from around R720 000 up to about R1.5 million depending on the suburb.
Prices of family homes suitable for those with older children and well-located in relation to some of the top high schools in the country start at prices from R700 000 for golden oldies that need lots of renovation, but are generally very spacious and set in large gardens.
Renovated and more modern homes and freehold clusters sell for an average of around R1.2 million while luxury properties in Colbyn, Rietfontein, Rietondale and Waverley start at around R2.5 million to around R8 million.
