A look inside the stylish Newlands Peak, Cape Town’s hot new development

26 Mar 2020

Newlands Peak micro-apartments are expected to give first time buyers a foot in door for prime Cape Town property investment.

Surrounded by the natural beauty and incredible views of the Southern Suburb, this latest development by Rawson Devlopers is set to make contemporary living more accessible. The flagship development created by Rawson Developers in the highly sought-after Cape Town suburb of Newlands is set to launch on 21 April 2020.

‘Most progressive project’

“Newlands Peak is by far our most significant and progressive project,” says Brad Morgan, from Rawson Developers.

“We’ve really pushed the envelope in terms of modern architectural design, incorporating emerging global trends in both aesthetics and layout.”

The 11-storey, pet-friendly building is certainly one of the largest of its kind in this Southern Suburbs neighbourhood.

With a bold, geometric exterior that fits seamlessly into its leafy surroundings, all 232 units sees “sensitive interplay between contemporary design, natural light and green spaces”.

“From the elegant rooftop deck with its state-of-the-art fitness centre and dual heated pools, to the landscaped atrium and spacious balconies flowing off every apartment, fresh air and open spaces are a big part of Newlands Peak’s appeal.”

‘Cutting-edge micro-apartments trend’

Newlands Peak has also included a small selection of cutting-edge, 29m² to 40 m² (excluding balconies) micro-apartments. A total of just over 50 units are designed in this latest property trend category.

“In reality, the micro apartments are a very small component of Newlands Peak’s residential offering,” says Morgan.

“We included the micro-apartments as a way to give new investors a foot in the market without compromising the quality of the development,” says Morgan.

The developer is also offering a R200k early investor discount on launch day.

“They are proving to be one of our most popular options with investors, from R1.35million to R1.675million.”

With anticipated rental incomes of R10 000 to R12 000 per month when the building is completed, Morgan says Newlands Peak’s micro-apartments are fully expected to sell out. Those looking for more traditional living spaces, however, have a much wider range of options within the development with over 25 different unit layouts available. Options include three-bedroom penthouse apartments from R7.2m, two-bedrooms apartments from R3.4m as well as one-bedrooms apartments from R2.12m.

With the top two floors reserved for expansive, two- and three-bedroom, super-luxury penthouses, space is certainly on offer at Newlands Peak.

“The rest of the apartments run the full gamut of sizes and price-points. We’re quite proud of that design diversity – it’s going to encourage a great community of residents.”

‘Designed to be exclusive, without being exclusionary’

According to Morgan, community was a key consideration for Newlands Peak’s design, inspiring its vibrant public spaces.

These include a ground floor coffee shop, restaurant and drop-and-go laundromat, a leafy, landscaped atrium, and a spacious rooftop deck with two heated pools and a state of the art fitness centre. The entire development is also energy-efficient and sustainability-focussed, and boasts state-of-the-art biometric access control complemented by 24/7 manned security and concierge.

“We’ve invested a huge amount of time and expertise into making sure Newlands Peak epitomises the ideal contemporary lifestyle,” says Morgan. “It’s designed to be exclusive, without being exclusionary, and offers incredible opportunities for prospective residents and investors alike.”

Newlands Peak apartments are planned to launch to the market on 21 April 2020 and construction begins later this year. Sales finalised on the launch day qualify for a R200k early investor discount. Prices are VAT inclusive and subject to zero transfer duty.
