Perfectly situated on an eco-estate surrounding the oldest golf course in Zululand, Eshowe Hills Golf Estate has been much admired by those who have had the privilege to visit it.
Launched in 2004 by local golf club members who believed that a residential development was the only solution to preserve their beloved golf course, the estate has superseded its altruistic beginning and has become a development success. The developers of the estate have decided to give the opportunity of purchase to many more buyers by hosting an auction of 20 stands.
Dave Davenport, Developer of Eshowe Hills Golf Estate, says the development of the estate is almost complete, and they are proud of the way it has turned out. He says the foundations for the 37th house are laid and all the current residents are happy living there.
Davenport says the estate has reached its critical mass, the essential services are in, the clubhouse exists and people are living on the estate. He says they have already achieved their goals for the estate, however, their dream is now to see the estate 100% sold, and for more people to make it their home. The developers, Sihloleni Estates, own only 44 more stands and have decided to place 20 stands on auction, says Davenport.
Eshowe Hills has a Victorian architectural theme and an 18-hole golf course, as well as clubhouse facilities that could be used for weddings of up to 150 guests, six all-weather tennis courts, a clubhouse which has a wellness centre, plus two squash courts. It is set on a 110ha property that enjoys forest, hills and an abundance of the greenest grass. With King Shaka International Airport being only an hour away, and the Ballito shopping centres also less than an hour's drive, Eshowe Hills offers country living with all amenities being only a drive away. To add to this, the acclaimed Umfolozi Game Reserve is just an hour and a half away, making exciting day trips possible.
Davenport says the auction is on 27 March at 11am in the clubhouse. He says he is sure that there are going to be some serious bargains to be had; the sale is without reserve and all the stands will be sold.
During the past few years, the concept of auctions has evolved, he says. It is now seen as an effective and trusted method to promote well-established properties that are looking to sell specific plots, he says.
Since launching the estate, they have sold 70% of the 187 sites, and to date 36 homes have been completed with an additional home currently under construction. Davenport says for a golfer it is paradise, like having your own private course with no booking required and always plenty of chaps looking for a game. Children have the freedom to enjoy the estate, which is equally ideal for young families or retirees. Eshowe and, more specifically, Eshowe Hills is truly a wonderful place to live, he says.
“We look forward to welcoming buyers to the auction, and to sharing the success of our estate with more people”.
