Eastern Cape

The Eastern Cape, the second largest province in South Africa, is situated on the south-eastern coast and boasts great natural beauty, particularly along the stretch known as the Wild Coast.

Port Elizabeth, positioned in Algoa Bay, is the largest city and an important harbour. Other major towns include the capital, Bhisho; Uitenhage, the motor vehicle manufacturing town; King William's Town, rich in history; Grahamstown, known as the City of Saints; as well as Mthatha, Graaff-Reinet, Cradock, Stutterheim, Aliwal North, and Port St Johns, the largest town on the Wild Coast.

The Eastern Cape has spectacular coastline features, which effortlessly transition from land to sea, opening up a world of exploration and adventure opportunities like the popular surf competitions in Jeffreys Bay or the annual National Arts Festival in Grahamstown. The Eastern Cape is also home to the famous Tsitsikamma National Park, and the Bloukrans Bridge which is the world's highest bungee jump. Here, you will also find South Africa's only ski resort, Tiffindell, which is situated in the Drakensberg on the slopes of Ben Macdhui, the highest mountain peak in the Eastern Cape.

Offering its visitors and residents a wealth of flora and fauna, including the lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, African buffalo, great white shark and southern right whale, the Eastern Cape has become an investment area. If you’re looking for luxury, the Eastern Cape has some of the best Game Reserves: Shamwari, Kwantu and Kwandwe, so be sure to invest in a luxury home here for a relaxing lifestyle. With two harbours and four airports offering direct flights to all main centres, and an excellent road and rail infrastructure, the province has been marked as a key area for growth and economic development.

It is evident that the Eastern Cape is home to the fun and fearless as well as those who wish to settle down. With amazing sea view properties in St Francis Bay and East London to the stylish apartments in Port Alfred and Jeffreys Bay there is something for every property buyer, and it is no wonder the Eastern Cape is one of the top South African attractions offering a world of wonders to its visitors and residents.
