Workshop for agents over 60 in Cape Town

08 Dec 2015

The Institute of Estate Agents, Western Cape, will be running a workshop at their training centre in Sheldon Way, Pinelands, for those who are over 60 who still need help with compiling their Portfolios of Evidence to apply for exemption from doing their NQF4 and NQF5 qualifications or their PDEs.

Evans says any principals or agents who are over 60 and who have not completed their qualifications training or PDE, who wish to receive exemption, are advised to get their applications in to the Estate Agency Affairs Board urgently.

This is according to Annette Evans, general manager of the Institute of Estate Agents, Western Cape, who says this workshop will also focus on preparation for the 20 minute oral examination interview.

Evans says although the deadline has technically passed, any principals or agents who are over 60 and who have not completed their qualifications training or PDE, who wish to receive exemption, are advised to get their applications in to the Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB) urgently.

The institute is running this workshop to assist all property professionals over 60 and advice will be given on all the documentation to be included in the application and PoE, a comprehensive list has been supplied by the EAAB. Those who have their NQF4 or 5 will be told what needs to be submitted. It has to be remembered that exemptions are for the level of qualifications on the professional's current FFC, says Evans.

The workshop will be held on 11 December from 09:30 to 12:30 and the cost including VAT is R285 for members and R525 for non-members. Booking online is essential as seating is limited.

In order to apply for exemption, agents must:

- Be 60 years or older.

- Have held their Fidelity Fund Certificates for a continuous period of five years.

- Have a current valid FFC for the level of exemption they are applying for.

Evans says those who have completed their portfolio may attend by arrangement.

To secure a booking, forward your proof of payment to Janine Killian via email.
