Innovative app for agents launched

23 Apr 2012

At a launch at the Table Bay Hotel, Realtors International agents and associates were introduced to an app that the company believes will impact greatly on the property industry.

One of the game changers for the property industry that the new app will usher in, says Enderli, is that agents will no longer need to rent expensive offices. They will be connected, with all the information they need, wherever they are.

The company has spent the past year developing an app – currently on iPad but will be on other platforms soon – that will free agents to spend more face-to-face time with their clients.

“We believe in technology as a tool to build the personal connections that our agents can then excel in,” says Toni Enderli, Chief brand officer of Realtors International.

Lewis Pugh, environmental campaigner and maritime lawyer, best known for his ice water endurance swims, was the keynote speaker at the launch.

Speaking at the event, Pugh made the point that just because something has worked in the past doesn’t mean it always will, and for real change to happen, in the environment and in business, we must change our mindset.

One of the game changers for the property industry that the new app will usher in, says Enderli, is that agents will no longer need to rent expensive offices. They will be connected, with all the information they need, wherever they are.

This will result in flexibility, cost savings and agents being able to improve their service delivery standards.

The app aggregates all the tools that an agent needs in one place, he says.

All the administration work is done through the app and no printouts are needed. The buyers and sellers sign their agreements through a secure digital signature component, directly onto the iPad.

Enderli says people who choose to sell their properties through one of their agents will immediately be given an accurate evaluation of the price of their property because the app is linked to the Deeds Office.

Previously agents would have had to return to the office to do research and then print out a proposal - now there are no delays, he says.

The app changes the experience for buyers as well, he explains. “Instead of getting reams of printouts about properties that may not be suitable, buyers are able to see all the properties available through the app”

Enderli says buyers are only taken to the ones that are the best match, and comprehensive details are emailed to the client after the visit.

The agents also have all the tools they need to answer buyers’ questions about bond costs, interest rates and transfer fees.

Technology has changed the way we live our lives, transact and communicate with each other, he says.

“With this new app, Realtors International is responding to these changes, and ensuring that the company will still exist many years into the future.”
